Kissed by the Gods by Katy Rogan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Y’all, this book!! Kissed by the Gods (KBTG) was one of my tops reads last year of 180 books.
It’s honestly perfection. It has everything I could ask for in a romantasy book. We’ve got tons of feminine rage, a delicious slow burn, forced proximity, he falls first, and an amazing found family. The world building is phenomenal as well, and the tension 🥵 and that ending?????
Convincing you to read KBTG with some of my favorite quotes:
“That wasn’t a kiss, Leina. That was a fucking confession.”
“It’s not about perfection,” Ryot says. “It’s not even about letting go. It’s about staying. Right here, with yourself, wherever that might be. It’s about meeting yourself where you already are—nowhere else. If it’s somewhere loud, then it’s loud. If it’s somewhere broken, then it’s broken. You don’t fix it by forcing silence. You heal by being willing to listen—even when all you hear is the storm.”
“If he so much as looks at you like this, I’ll kill him.”
“Leina Haverlyn.” The way he says my name—it’s not a surrender. It’s a vow. “Will you be mine? My ward, I mean?” “I already am.”
“We stopped being about debts owed and paid a long time ago,” “What are we about, then?” “Fate,” “Because even the gods didn’t see us coming, my rebel girl.”

Book Description
Leina has spent a lifetime submitting. Kneeling. Enduring.
Then soldiers come for her brother, and divine fury surges through her veins. She expects execution for the bodies she left in her wake. Her people have met bloody ends for far, far less.
Instead, Ryot, a godsworn warrior born to privilege and raised in order, drags her into a world that was never meant for her. One of divine armies and death demons, winged war horses and monsters, sacred power and royal secrets.
A kiss from a goddess changes everything.
No longer a criminal, Leina is a prize. The kingdom’s most powerful men want what the goddess touched. Leina wants only one thing, though: freedom for her people. And she’ll trade herself for the strength to destroy the kingdom that broke them.
Conscripted into a war she never asked for, fighting for gods she doesn’t believe in, Leina must decide how far she’s willing to go and what she’s willing to lose. Because her power is more than a threat to the kingdom’s buried secrets.
It’s a death sentence.
Kissed by the Gods is releasing June 2 in the US/CAN and June 4 in the UK.

Where to buy

Before Kissed by the Gods was traditionally picked up, I was able to snag both indie hardcover versions (the regular and the misprint), along with the prequel novella, Unwritten by the Gods (this is one of my favorite novellas!!).
And y’all, I just grabbed it as one of the Allurial picks this morning AND I have it pre-ordered from Bewitched pages. How many editions is too many? The limit does not exist.
About the Author

At the seasoned age of five, Caty Rogan wrote her first story—armed with crayons, dramatic flair, and an unshakable belief that the Power Rangers were actually the bad guys. Shockingly, no publishers came calling.
So, she traded crayons for deadlines, earned a journalism degree, and started chasing stories across the globe. Somewhere along the way, she collected a few investigative journalism awards and a deeply unhealthy reliance on coffee.
These days, Caty writes the kind of spicy romance novels she used to inhale on long-haul flights. She lives for a badass heroine, swoons for a he-falls-first kind of hero, and survives almost entirely on caffeine, cheesy popcorn, and chocolate.
When she’s not neck-deep in fictional drama, she’s wrangling her two boss-girl daughters with the help of her husband—her very own he-falls-first hero—in the Arizona desert.
